Be Solid

Acts 28:7-10 Near the shore where we landed was an estate belonging to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us and treated us kindly for three days. As it happened, Publius’s father was ill with fever and dysentery. Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him. Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed. As a result we were showered with honors, and when the time came to sail, people supplied us with everything we would need for the trip.

Shipwrecked. On a foreign island. Yet, I had everything arranged. They were given housing. They were fed for three days. They were welcomed and cared for. While there, Paul healed many of illnesses. And the people were grateful. And in that gratitude they opened their hearts and made sure that Paul and all that had been shipwrecked with him were given everything they needed to continue their journey when the storms had passed. Do you not see? They had lost everything in the storm. All provisions. All belongings. The ship itself. Yet, I arranged this island stay so that they would be safe and they would be provided all they needed to continue the journey I had for Paul. Had I promised such abundance? No. I promised safety and provision. And what was Paul’s attitude through it all? Did he lose confidence in Me? Did he lose hope? Did he fall into despair and despondance? No. He trusted. He knew it would all work out. And as it was in process, he continued to do My will. He showed others who I am. He healed the sick. He walked uprightly and honorably. He was a strong ambassador, a faithful representative. Be Paul. Trust. Continue to do My will. Walk uprightly and honorably. Be solid in your faith in Me. Because, Child, I am always solid in keeping My promises to you.
